Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Health Scan Express ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

Health Scan Express is an iOS application that uses AI-powered image recognition to read and record measurements from health devices such as blood pressure monitors and digital scales. The App allows you to capture photos of your device displays and automatically extract the readings, which can optionally be stored in Apple Health.

Subscription and Payment

Health Scan Express operates on a subscription model through Apple's App Store. By subscribing:

  • You agree to pay the subscription fees as displayed in the App Store
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings
  • Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policies

Medical Disclaimer

Important: Health Scan Express is NOT a medical device and is NOT intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.

The App is a convenience tool for recording health measurements. While we strive for accuracy in reading device displays, you should:

  • Always verify readings directly on your health device
  • Not rely solely on the App for health decisions
  • Consult healthcare professionals for medical advice
  • Use the App as a supplementary record-keeping tool only

We make no warranties regarding the accuracy of readings extracted from device images. AI image recognition may occasionally produce errors.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Health Scan Express only for its intended purpose and not to:

  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Submit images that are not health device displays
  • Share your subscription access with others

Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your data. Key points:

  • Health device images are processed but never stored on our servers
  • Your actual health readings are not collected or logged
  • Images are processed by third-party AI services
  • Apple Health data stays on your device

Third-Party Services

Health Scan Express uses third-party services for AI image processing. By using the App, you acknowledge that:

  • Your device images will be processed by third-party AI providers
  • These services have their own terms and privacy policies
  • We are not responsible for third-party service availability or performance

Intellectual Property

Health Scan Express, including its logo, design, and content, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our written permission.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • We are not liable for health decisions made based on App readings
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the past 12 months

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it and cancelling your subscription.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
